Welcome

Welcome to www.bottled-beer.co.uk a new beer review website for beer that comes in that age old handy package known as the bottle. The reviews are by two enthusiasts, Paul Garrard and Hywel. Paul runs www.realalenet.co.uk, a real ale information site and blogs on The RealAleBlog. Hywel is the brains behind the infamous Hywel's Big Log.

The reviews are by people who enjoy beer for people who enjoy beer or perhaps want to but don't know where to start. The reviews are not designed to be scientific, technical or for anoraks. They are personal and sometimes opinionated.

Unlike wine, beer is the perfect accompaniment to food. There will be a beer that will compliment any type of meal and any type of course. Take our national dish for instance. You wouldn't dream of having wine with Chicken Tikka Masala, the flavours of the food would just destroy the wine, but a good German wheat beer would be a perfect match. For more information and ideas about beer and food matching why not visit: www.beer2gowithfood.co.uk?

If you would like to submit your review or reviews we'd love to hear from you, so please feel free to make contact. We hope you enjoy reading the reviews and find something of interest.

There is something quite sensual, seductive and satisfying about a bottle of beer. Bottled beer tantalises with its translucent body, teasing with a hint of what is contained therein. A tin on the other hand is cold, sterile and essentially frigid. Frankly a tin of beer just doesn't cut the mustard.

Quite simply a bottle is the best way to have beer to hand for when you either can't get to the pub or want to drink with a meal.

Look out for the First Class Beer logo - it signifies a beer that we whole heartedly endorse. Avoid it at your peril!
